7% fewer leads due to not being available 26/7

Did you know that companies would have an average of 7% more leads if they were available day and night? Of course, for most companies, that's not feasible. But it does indicate that your availability has a lot of impact on the number of leads you retain in your organization. In this article, you'll read more about that, and learn about the concept of lead leakage.

Lead leakage in practice

Lead leakage is losing warm leads to your competitor. Often because you yourself are not reachable, or do not respond quickly enough. This is best explained by an example.

Imagine you are spending the evening online looking for a new car. Suddenly you come upon the website of a dealer who has a nice car for sale. You would like more information about this car. The best way to do that, of course, is to call. Then you get an immediate answer, and you can also ask any follow-up questions right away. But what turns out to be the case? The dealer is not available in the evening.

There are now two things you can do. Find a dealer who has the same car listed, and who is available in the evening. Or try to call the dealer tomorrow on your break. In the first situation, you will lose this warm lead, and in the second situation there is also a good chance of that. In fact, in practice, people often forget this, or they start their search again via Google. Is a competitor then above you in the search result? Then chances are that this lead will not return to your website.

In search of the solution

Getting in touch with all the leads that visit your Web site may not be a realistic expectation. But what if you could reduce your lead leakage by a significant percentage? Then that means you would probably also generate more leads and thus more sales. Fortunately, there are several solutions on the market that can help you do just that.
